Weston-super-Mare: My Home Town

£25.00

Weston-super-Mare: My Home Town. Having spent years photographing his favourite places, Alex reveals a Weston beyond the obvious and pays homage to its beauty and imperfections.

Description

Alex Wolfe-Warman was born in Weston-Super-Mare in 1965. He left aged 17 and returned at 42. This book is a response to that return. As a teenager he could not wait to get out of Weston, on his return 25 years later Alex found a much more beautiful and interesting place than the one he left years before. Of course that was due to a change of perception, not reality. Perception is the main theme. What is ugly, beautiful, sad, happy, melancholy, depressing, uplifting, nostalgic, progressive and how do we arrive at these conclusions? In My Hometown, Alex asks these questions and lets the viewer decide.
